The Group

The Plant, Soil and By-product Valorization (BV1) research group is composed of researchers and technical staff from the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry at the University of Vigo. Founded in 1998 and recognized as a Competitive Reference Research Group since 2017, it carries out its activities primarily at the Ourense Campus.

With more than twenty-five years of experience, the group focuses its research on soil science, environmental protection, and by-product valorization, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and the sustainable management of natural resources.
